Sustainable Design

  • Ithra 8386 Ring Road Az Zahran, Eastern Province, 34461 Saudi Arabia (map)

We are all aware of the urgency of sustainability.

In practice, the shift towards a sustainable world turns out to be a difficult process. The sustainable design workshop will show how you as a designer, maker or creative can contribute to this shift. What is sustainability? Who is responsible for sustainability? How to make a sustainable design? How can designers be motivators of sustainable behaviour?

All of these questions will be touched upon in an inspiring workshop. Jessica den Hartog.

A Dutch designer specialized in working with plastics. Learn everything about this wonderful material with its endless properties but also is very damaging for our environment. In fact it is not the material that is harmfull but the way we use it.  In her workshop she takes you into her method. Discovering and experimenting how you can convert plastic waste into a valuable material or product. While being guided by the material you will  experiment with color, shape and properties. Combine the material by using different techniques. Such as the heat press and the iron. After this workshop you have learned about a whole new world of how to create sustainable materials from what we now consider as waste. And what properties a product should have it you need to be able to transform it into value after done using it.
